CAPE RANGE NATIONAL PARK

CAPE RANGE NATIONAL PARK – 20TH SEPTEMBER

Headed into Exmouth and on to Cape Grange National Park. The Ningaloo Marine Park is off the Western side of the point.  There are several NP camp areas but they fill quickly. We are down at Yardie Creek which is at the furthermost end but was  the last camp site available. There is an overflow where there will still a couple of spots from the overflow campers are channelled into other spots as they become available.

We have done the Yardie creek cruise seeing Black footed wallabies and various wildlife and also trekked along the Yardie creek Gorge walk.

The beach is great, miles and miles of beautiful water and rocky/sandy beach with the Ningaloo reef in the distance and lots of turtles and reef sharks near the shore. We have already walked long distances along it. The only slight drawback is that it has been very windy.

On the way out we stopped at Tiesel where there is a rookery of turtles. They were very close to the beach and mating one or two came right up on the beach.
